Officially recognized by the United Nations<\/a> in 2008, World Oceans Day<\/a> is celebrated every year on June 8. Its aim? To highlight the fundamental role of the oceans in the planet’s balance and to mobilize all stakeholders in the face of their progressive degradation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2026, the situation remains alarming. The oceans, which cover more than 70% of the Earth’s surface and produce a large portion of the oxygen, are subject to multiple pressures: climate change, ocean acidification, massive plastic pollution, overfishing, and coastal development. Added to these threats is a major challenge: global water stress, which increases societies’ dependence on increasingly complex water access solutions. \u201cReimagine,\u201d the theme of World Oceans Day 2026, invites us to change the way we perceive and care for the ocean. For too long, we have considered it something distant, when in reality it is an integral part of our daily lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this context, World Oceans Day is, more than ever, a warning sign and a call to action. To protect marine environments, but also to fundamentally rethink our relationship with water, its production, consumption, preservation and to reconcile the satisfaction of basic needs with respect for the environment<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the underlying principle of Seawards’ approach. Faced with increasingly strained freshwater resources, we are developing a disruptive technology: cryoseparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This day serves as a reminder of a fundamental truth: the oceans are not an inexhaustible resource, but a fragile living system upon which.
