But in the era of climate disruption, reduction is no longer enough. We must regenerate : recreate positive cycles, strengthen resources, and repair ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ellenmacarthurfoundation.org\/articles\/what-is-regenerative-design\">Regenerative industry<\/a> is one that creates more value than it consumes \u2014 an economy of reconstruction: technological, social, and territorial. It\u2019s a transition endorsed by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.weforum.org\/agenda\/2023\/10\/regenerative-economy-sustainability-climate\">World Economic Forum<\/a>, which calls for a shift from a logic of sustainability to a regenerative economy, one capable of restoring rather than merely compensating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Water : a strategic resource and a lever for stability<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Advanced water technologies &#8211; such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seawards.fr\/en\/seawards-innovation-cryo-separation\/\">cryo-separation<\/a> process developed by Seawards &#8211; now make it possible to produce clean drinking water without chemical agents, without pollution, and without impact on the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each liter of fresh water produced becomes a factor of stability :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>it supports life and biodiversity,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>it strengthens water autonomy,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>it contributes to social and economic peace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/news-and-stories\/press-release\/global-desalination-capacity-doubled-past-decade-new-study-shows\">UN Environment<\/a>, more than 21,000 desalination plants are currently operating worldwide.<br>They produce 142 million m\u00b3 of fresh water every day, but discharge an equivalent volume of toxic brine back into the sea. This is the paradox of the current model: producing water while impoverishing its source.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Desalination &#8211; no longer a remedy, but a resource<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dominant process, reverse osmosis, relies on high-pressure filtration \u2014 energy-intensive and generating hypersaline waste.<br>These residues, laden with heavy metals and chemicals, threaten biodiversity and exacerbate ocean acidification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cryo-separation changes this equation. By reproducing the natural phenomenon of freezing, it separates fresh water from salt without membranes, without chemicals, and with an optimized energy footprint.<br>A process inspired by nature &#8211; designed to last.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eaurmc.fr\/connaitre-le-bassin\/les-defis-du-bassin\/eau-et-climat.html\">Rh\u00f4ne-Mediterranean-Corsica Water Agency<\/a> estimates that renewable water resources could decrease by 40% by 2050 in the Mediterranean basin.<br>In this context, rethinking the industrial model of water is becoming a strategic priority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>An innovation born on the Mediterranean coast<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is on the shores of the Mediterranean that this technology was born &#8211; a territory both fragile and pioneering, where the sea is at once a constraint and an opportunity.<br>Here, desalination is not an act of defiance, but an alliance between industry and nature.<br>A way to act with the sea, not against it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The work of the <a href=\"https:\/\/planbleu.org\/publications\/\">Plan Bleu<\/a> reminds us that demographic and economic pressure on the Mediterranean coastline demands new models of coexistence between human activity and the preservation of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\">Toward an industry that regenerates territories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Clean desalination paves the way for a regenerative industry &#8211; production that gives back more than it takes.<br>This is the model that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seawards.fr\/en\/our-founding-principles\/\">Seawards<\/a> stands for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a technology that protects ecosystems,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>an innovation that drives economic and social renewal,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a vision of the sea as a living resource.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Because in the face of climate change, the future of water depends on our ability to produce without destroying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For decades, industry has learned to reduce its impacts.
