The Mediterranean Water Forum

For three days, representatives from Mediterranean countries will be presenting the challenges and solutions involved in optimizing management of the vital resource of water , particularly in the face of the challenges posed by climate change. The Mediterranean Water Forum, as a platform for exchanging and consolidating know-how and experience in the water sector, is positioned as a catalyst for innovation and solutions, taking into account the region’s persistent drought situation.

Among its key objectives, the Forum aims to bring the main players together in the Mediterranean water community, to provide innovative solutions water needs, to provide a showcase for the replication of solutions on a global scale, to creating an environment for dialogue for sustainable management of water resources, and to help make water a political priority at all levels.

The Mediterranean Water Forum promises to be a unique opportunity to bring together industry professionals, scientists, researchers, political decision-makers and local actors from different countries. With over 500 participants expected to attend, this event offers a platform for sharing varied perspectives and innovative solutions for efficient, sustainable water management in the Mediterranean region.

A step towards the Bali World Water Forum

This event is a crucial step in the preparatory process for the World Water Forum in Bali in 2024,the largest international gathering in the water sector. Held every three years since 1997, the Forum encompasses a three-year preparation phase, a week-long event, and a presentation of the results, with ongoing support for collective action. From May 18 to 24, 2024, water stakeholders from around the world will gather in Bali to share their knowledge, experience and practices on a wide range of water-related topics.

In a world faced with the growing challenges of climate change and drought, these events play a crucial role in rethinking our use of this vital resource. They offer a unique platform for reflection, collaboration and the emergence of innovative solutions. Given the urgency of the situation, it is imperative to adopt sustainable practices and preserve water for future generations. Together, let’s commit to rethinking our relationship with water and working towards a future where this precious resource is preserved in a fair and sustainable way.
