2025 : the year of industrial breakthrough for Seawards

For Seawards, 2025 marks a paradigm shift.
The year when our vision of sustainable desalination moved beyond promise and took root in the reality of real-world territories.                                                                                                                                 From the waters of Marseille to the arid regions of the mediterranean basin and the Middle East, this trajectory traces an industrial odyssey in which each milestone has strengthened a single, overarching ambition: to build an industry capable of working in symbiosis with living systems.

Legitimacy forged through real-world testing

In 2025, Seawards’ credibility was built through direct engagement with territories, institutions, and industrial constraints.
Our technology was not assessed against stated intentions, but tested against the conditions that determine whether a solution can truly scale.

The support of France 2030 is part of this demanding trajectory. It accompanies a pivotal phase – one in which a scientific breakthrough must be structured, proven, and prepared to become an industrial infrastructure serving water sovereignty.

This framework has enabled Seawards to contribute to national discussions on next-generation water infrastructure, where long-term technical, industrial, and territorial trade-offs are being shaped.

Entering the water dialogue to shape tomorrow’s infrastructure

A technology truly exists only when it becomes a subject of debate, challenge, and decision. Throughout the year, Seawards actively engaged in the spaces where tomorrow’s water policies and infrastructures are being shaped, carrying a clear message: sobriety must become a design principle, not an afterthought.

In Cannes, within the Climate Solutions Accelerator, and in Toulouse during the Acting for Water event organized by Groupe BPCE, Seawards established itself as a voice capable of connecting climate challenges, industrial constraints, and territorial realities.
These discussions were extended through technical work with the Pôle Mer Méditerranée in Palavas-les-Flots and in-depth monitoring at the Pollutec trade show, ensuring that our engineering remains at the highest level of rigor in environmental monitoring, mechanics, and microbiology.

Deployment at Saumaty : operational grounding in the real world

In November 2025, Seawards crossed a critical threshold: our cryo-separation prototype left the laboratory to be installed at the MIN of Saumaty, in Marseille.

In direct contact with the sea and port infrastructure, this site is a window open to the world. It is here that Seawards’ technology is tested under real operating conditions.

Supported by the Sud Region and the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolitan Authority, we are confronting our innovation with the industrial requirements of international deployment and the real complexity of the marine environment.
This open-air laboratory is where our expert team – now comprising nine specialists under the leadership of our CTO, Nicolas Zanese – is preparing the emergence of a regenerative industry.

Here, each analysis brings us closer to a responsible change of scale, demonstrating that technology can finally learn to serve living systems.

The Saudi horizon : a strategic step in the face of global water challenges

This expertise has crossed borders to be assessed against the most critical water needs, in regions particularly exposed to water stress. The Booster Grow Global program run by Business France took us from Riyadh to Jeddah, via Dammam, for an in-depth immersion at the heart of Saudi Vision 2030.

Through exchanges with institutions and centers of research excellence such as KAUST, we were able to confirm that our chemical-free cryo-separation desalination alternative aligns precisely with the expectations of regions facing structural freshwater scarcity.
This journey was not a simple exploration, but confirmation that French technology represents a credible pathway for the regeneration of resources in the face of growing water pressures.

From anchoring to expansion

We close 2025 with pride, having transformed a scientific breakthrough into a solid industrial and human project.
The past year was one of affirmation and anchoring. 2026 will be the year of expansion, with the continuation and deepening of offshore tests – essential to preparing the next change of scale.

Making water accessible to all while preserving the integrity of the oceans remains our daily commitment – a mission we pursue with technical rigor and the responsibility that living systems demand.

Together & differently.
